How do I get my questions answered?

Is there technical help?

Yes. ClubKing’s bridge classes are conducted on Zoom in a video conference. Taking classes on Zoom does require some basic computer skills. We are happy to have partnered with the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan to help you acquire these skills. Please click here to see the variety of computer classes offered. We hope these will be of help to you.

How are your classes set up?

Our classes: The entire class takes place in Zoom. Be sure to open your Chat box so you can participate in our interactive lessons. This is where you will type in your answers.
Our supervised play sessions: The class also takes place in Zoom. During the Zoom session, a link will be posted in the Chat box which will take you to another website, our unique Virtual Bridge Table.

How do I ask questions during the classes?

Zoom works best when participants do not all try to talk over one another. To create the best learning environment, all participants will be muted during the teaching portion of the session. At the end, you may unmute during the Question & Answer session.

How do I unmute?

On the bottom left of your Zoom screen, click on the microphone.

What and where is the Zoom Chat box?

CHAT is a way for you to send messages during Zoom sessions. The CHAT icon is on the ZOOM toolbar. Click here for a video of how to find CHAT. For more Zoom support on how to use CHAT, click here. Zoom also has a large tech support page here.

How do I use Zoom on an iPad?

If you are using an iPad, click here for detailed instructions.

How do I switch back and forth between the Virtual Bridge Table and Zoom?

Once you are on the Virtual Bridge Table, you should be able to stay there for the rest of the lesson. If you do want to switch between our bridge table and Zoom for any reason, it just takes a little practice.

Your Internet Browser is the program on your computer (or iPad or cellphone) that lets you get onto the Internet. Examples are Safari for Apple devices and Chrome for Windows.

Switching between the Virtual Table and Zoom using an iPad is a bit different from the instructions below. If you are using an iPad, click here for detailed instructions.

During the Zoom session:

  1.     Open the Chat box.
  2.     Click the link in Chat to take you to the Virtual Table. You will still hear your instructor but may not see them. Depending on what device you are using and your screen size, the Virtual Bridge Table may cover your entire screen.
  3.      If you want to return to Zoom, click on the Zoom icon on your taskbar (you may need to move your mouse around to ‘wake up’ the taskbar).
  4.      If you are in Zoom and want to go back to your Virtual Table, click on your browser (ie Safari or Chrome) and the Virtual table will come up.

*If you cannot see your taskbar on the bottom of the Zoom window, you need to exit from full-screen. When your instructor shares their screen, it is in full-screen. Click on the escape (esc) key on your keyboard or move your cursor over the VIEW tab on the top right corner of the Zoom pictures. Click VIEW and Click exit full screen

Who is the best bridge teacher?
